As long as you have over 200 followers you are eligible to get sponsors. You set your own price and if the advertiser finds you credible enough, you will get an offer directly from the advertisers.

As for sharing the profit, you, as a tweeter, get to keep 50% and the system will retain another 50%. So if you are asking for $1.00 for a tweet, the sponsor has to pay out $2.00 to the marketing agency.

But then again, advertising on Twitter will get more complicated & competitive. So I would suggest that you register now & start experimenting. If nothing else, you would still get to learn how sponsored tweets work & if at all that could get you a handsome income in the future.
