CAPTCHA helps you prevent non-human entities to spam your mailboxes & blogs. It presents a tricky situation that must be completed (like solving a small puzzle) to be able to complete an activity (like sending an email or submitting a form from a website or blog). Only humans can solve such tricky problems thus stopping automated bots from executing such steps.

A common place to start with including CAPTCHA in your websites or blogs is the registration, sign-up or contact process .

The project to stop automated spamming agents like bots was initiated in Carnegie Mellon & has presented some unique solutions like OCX identifications, combo words (presenting 2 different words side by side), identifying combo items (like words with cats!) & here is the example of using CAPTCHA to present a small mathematical problem.
