Google TV Ads launched in US - cost effective TV Ads from US $ 100 - US $ 1000

After a year of beta testing from June 2007, Google announced that all Google Adwords customers can now advertise with Google TV ads in the US. This uses the same Google AdWords interface to create an online TV ad in minutes and within a meager budget of anything between US $ 100 to US $ 1000! Thats an inexpensive one compared to the several hundreds of dollars one has to spend for a 30 minute ad slot on the national network.

"To celebrate our launch, for a limited time Google will cover the cost of creating your TV ad through our Ad Creation Marketplace, up to $2,000." quotes the official Google TV blog post . Apart from the huge cost effectiveness, Google TV ads can be bought on a true CPM basis where the advertiser pays only for impressions they receive.

.

Although the user’s feedback has not started flowing in yet, one of them reported on Information Week that the advertiser received a million impressions but no conversion. That apart, Google TV Ads are limited to Dish Network, which further limits the audience size. Quoting the comment:

The only problem is that Google AdWords TV advertising runs only on The Dish Network. I ran ads with Google TV and had 1,000,000 (one million) impressions and received NO orders whatsoever. This was a VERY expensive endeavor, that failed for us.
