Here is an Idea - Have a common Blog Dashboard

1 May 2008 16 views No Comment

I started blogging with WordPress a few years back. Apart from the simplicity of WordPress, they had a Dashboard when you logged in, and one of the features of that dashboard was "The Latest Post". This column showed the latest post at any point of time.

.

I thought that was a fabulous feature. Even if you are a small time blogger, when your post came up as the latest, people had the chance of coming over to your blog. WordPress has changed that feature for some time now. I think they should bring it back.

Now the above is for all blogs hosted on WordPress. Now that I run my own set up, I miss that dashboard. I also miss reading some of the more prolific authors in WordPress.

.

So here is my Idea - I think WordPress should create an universal dashboard, where they can feature the Latest Post (in any category), the Most Popular Post (amongst all categories) and probably a few others like Most Controversial (readers can decide if the post is controversial), Most Enlightening (again readers can decide). Having done that, it will not only help the independent WordPress bloggers gain a wider range of audience, but it will also help WordPress in continuing to build and maintain a strong and healthy relation with its users. And, as we say, Relationship is the Mother of all Success!

.

So that is my Idea. What’s yours?
