Here is an idea - Preservation Reserves to be made compulsory

I was reading to a blog post of a 12 year old girl where she was quoting Shakespeare. The article was well written. But I was finding it hard to accept that she was just 12! I continued onto the comments section where another gentleman cared to express the same feelings. She retorted that she is from Gen-X and that she is more advanced.

.

That is a bright light in the horizon for us. More educated people means a better world. More educated meaning could also mean a better environment and a better life for all the other non-human residents. Now that we humans have started playing gods, Jane Goodall’s TED wish echoed in my ears. Please help Save the Animals.

.

So here is my idea. I do not mean to be rude to any of the law making authorities, but I think it is a darn good idea to set up Preservation Reserve camps just like many countries have army troops. And that these Preservation Reserves be called upon for a week or two every few years to contribute their time for any of the preservation activities around the world.

.

I know many of the organizations are actively participating these days for saving the world. Go Green is a brilliant concept that has been recently converted into a more brilliant Selling Point. Stop & Shop sells Green bags for 99 cents! People will turn any brilliant idea into a sales pitch, well nothing wrong with that. But more to the point, you get to spend a week every few years in these efforts to save life around you.

.

I have been an outdoor preservationist for some time, and believe me when I say that it is heart breaking. More important than you physically contributing to any of these camps is the immense amount of learning you take away from them. You go back to think, to influence your family and children to think too. And there beings the change!

.

So that is my idea. What’s yours?
