First Capital Connect operates trains between London, Brighton, Bedford, Peterborough, Cambridge and King’s Lynn – one of the UK’s busiest rail networks.
Commuters could set up their locational information & First Capital could then send schedule updates, delays, reschedule notices & cancellation information to them through First Capital’s Twitter account.
In First Capital Connect’s Twitter services the company is using Twitter to pass on real time information to all the passengers who are affected by any changes to the train’s schedules.
The Twitter service was created by Tobias & Tobias, a leading UK based firm specializing in creative & strategic digital services. Brendan Nelson, head of strategy at Tobias & Tobias, said, “While many companies are still considering how to incorporate Twitter into their digital communications mix, FCC has taken a bold step forward.
