Search Engine Optimization for your blog - using Google to analyze key words
Google provides a large number of tools that could help you publish the more frequently sought after articles on your blog. One of the most popular of the Google Tools is Google Trend .
In this graph, I gave 4 keywords since I was trying to find out which one would be searched most. The words were blog, blogs, blogger, themes . And here is what Google told me what other people are searching for:
| blog | blogs | blogger | themes |
The blue line is for the search popularity for the word blog ; the red line for the word blogs; the orange line for the word blogger ; and the green line for the word themes .
Contrary to popular beliefs that plurals were more frequently used in searches, here the results showed that more people were searching for the word blog than blogs !
Here is another example, where I wanted to find out which of the words picture, pictures, photo, photos, photography were searched more than others.
| picture | pictures | photo | photos | photography |
As you can see, more people are searching Google for pictures (shown by the red line) than any of the other words.
Using Google Trend to find out the most searched words relevant to your content & naming your blog posts, adding ALT tags to your images and using those words in your posts will make your content more easily found by people searching for such contents.
