From January 1975, when he & Allen conceptualizes DOS through 2008, Bill Gates has been the founder & evangelist of the world’s largest software manufacturer.
When he announced his step-down in 2000, handing over the decision making responsibilities of Microsoft to Steve Ballmer, it was clear he was heading for a life of a different kind.
In 2006 he formally announced his retirement from Microsoft.
