What sort of Ads Earn Most Money - Best Ad agencies, Best Ad formats, Best Ad placements & Best Ad types - Part 4 of 4

In this last section, Part 4, we will share our experience on the best performing advertisement types. By ad type we mean whether its a content based advertisement, a referral ads, link ads, text ad or an image ad. Though the effectiveness depends on your content & the audience for your site or blog, we will share our experience that would give you some hints on the high performing ad formats.

High paying advertisement formats for your blogs & websites:

1. Contextual Text Ads - they are the most productive & most effective ad formats. The ability to put ads relevant to the content makes it even more effective. Not all ad agencies could achieve high level of relevance. The best example, again is Google. Contextual ad clicks could vary from about 60 cents a click to about US $ 2.00 in some cases.

2. Referral Ads - they are the second highest in terms if effectiveness. Though in most cases the advertisers pay a high amount for clicks, from our experience the number of clicks are usually low for referral ads.

3. The 3rd most effective advertisement group are the Link Ads - though Google is probably the only adverting agency providing Link Ads at this time, with expansion in the ad network they would probably add and improve on the link ads they serve.

4. Text Ads - though many image based ads earn CPM money, not all image ads earn upon being displayed. There are a large number of CPC advertisers that provide image ads. Our ability to merge text ads with the content makes them high performance earners over image ads.

5. Affiliate ads - these are large selling houses who you have decided to promote as affiliates. These are not usual CPC or CPM ads, but are more Click-per-action (CPA) type of displays where the visitor has to click & then take some actions before you get paid (like signing up for the product or service, or enrolling for a free trial etc.) Since there are 2 steps involved (click & sign-up, which could involve payment) the effectiveness of affiliate ads in terms of your earning is less. But each affiliate could pay you on leads or on purchases and the amounts could be as high at 15% of the sale value. But we have rated it low since the number of hits & sign-ups are usually low.
