Wordpress has released the module for Apple iPhone . The first Open Source app that lets you write posts, upload photos, and edit your WordPress blog from your iPhone or iPod Touch .

The Apple iPhone WP module works with Wordpress hosted blogs (free blogs), self hosted Wordpress blogs (that is, if you pay for your hosting & maintain your own blog) for all versions of Wordpress 2.5.1 and higher.

As for devices, the new WP for Apple iPhone works with all iPhones, iPhone 3G & iPod Touch. Most of the functions available on a normal wordpress system is also available on the Apple iPhone version.

There are few minor operational changes, which the Wordpress team would probably work through & simplify soon.

The Wordpress team has been phenomenal with their work. Though they had a few hiccups with their recent upgrade to version 2.6, they have always come out successful. With this new module of Apple iPhone, anyone can publish, edit & browse & even set up their wordpress blogs from iPhone & iTouch.

The documentation for Wordpress iPhone is still in progress. So will any new themes. It is not clear though whether Apple will charge for any new apps, plugins or themes that are are created & released for the iPhone modules.
